MURIÓ LA VERDAD

Sound installation for 2 speakers and a pedestal

These two installations present two sound compositions generated from two recording sessions carried out in the birth house and the death-house (?) of the painter Francisco de Goya. As a result of a search and compilation of references and sounds, El Niño de Elche and Xabier Erkizia devised two installations  for each house. The first was shown in the attic of Goya’s birth house, and the second inside a pedestal found in the house where he died, the current headquarters of the Instituto Cervantes in Bordeaux. Both installations were part of the exhibition MURIÓ LA VERDAD (The truth died), signed by the artist Lorena Domingo and El Niño de Elche himself.
Although they were presented in two different exhibitions, both compositions were originally composed to be listened simultaneously,  in a future reinstallment of the piece.
